Purposeful Homemaker is now becoming The Beautiful Deep. There is a whole new site and design. I'm pretty thrilled about this idea that has been in my heart for some time finally being unveiled.
I sincerely hope that you will continue to follow along with me there. What I write about will largely be the same things. I just have a new name and a new home.
Come on over and check it out! I'll see you there!
Purposeful Homemaker is Now...
It's {finally} time! {Some pretty important updates}

Hello sweet friends! Have you been busy with back to school and lots of new details? It's a busy time of year for sure!
I know it's been a while {longer than I anticipated really} but I'm SO ready to be back at this blogging thing! Which is good because I AM back and things are changing!
I have mentioned all of the changes coming for this space and this week, on Friday, I will be moving over to a new home "The Beautiful..." oh wait, I can't tell you yet {wink & smile}. You will be the first to know though! On Thursday I will be switching the email list and Facebook page for Purposeful Homemaker over and will announce the new site. Those of you on my email list and who follow the Facebook page will get to see it first before I announce it to the world! I am really excited about it and cannot wait to share it!
Purposeful Homemaker will still be here for a while but I will not be posting new posts. I will slowly be reposting some of my favorite PH posts over on the new site.
On to other news...
My new eBook "Empty Arms, Hope-Filled Heart - A prayer of hope and healing for the mom who has lost a child" will be available this coming Monday {the 17th}. It will be available to purchase in PDF, on Amazon and even in a paperback version. I want to give it to all of my email subscribers for free though so a link to download the PDF will be included in my blog update emails starting on Monday for one week. I hope you'll read it and I'd love to hear your thoughts! If you have lost a baby or a child I pray that it will bless and encourage you. If you know of anyone who has gone through the pain of loosing a child then sending them the book will be a great way to show them you care.
Along with the launching of the eBook I will be having some giveaways of special items that I think will bless a mom with sweet and special memories of her child. If you can help me spread the word about the book and the giveaway I would SO appreciate it!
Well, that is all for the updates right now. Be on the lookout for the changes!

When Everything Changes Nothing Has Changed
Pssst, Hi! Just stopping in because I miss you all and I miss blogging and I have a (rare) free moment. I wanted to let you know that my Summer break from blogging is going well. I am almost done with my eBook for moms who have lost a baby. I cannot wait to share it with you!
I also wanted to pop in and encourage you. It seems like lots of people are going through some tough things right now and my heart is heavy for them. I wrote this post a few weeks ago and wanted to share it now.
I'll be back in a few weeks with exciting new details...
-------------------------------------------------------
When everything in your life changes nothing has changed.
In a moment you can discover disease, be hurt by someone you love, have financial issues go from under control to overwhelming, make a costly mistake, survive the death of a loved one...
but when everything has changed nothing has really changed.
God is still God, the great I AM. He is still on the throne and close to your cry. He's collecting your tears and whispering for you to draw near.
He is still the mountain mover and storm calmer.
And your enemy is still under your feet.
So in your moments where everything is changing, be still and realize that nothing has changed about God. He is for you and with you. The depths of His love for you cannot be fallen below, climbed above, or pushed through.
Even when what you are experiencing is a result of your own mistake, He is still faithful, still good. He uses it all for our good.
So sing His praises because He is worthy, no matter where you are or what has changed. Lift your face up to His and let Him hold you in your time of need.

What Do You Carry? {Beautiful DaySpring Totes that Speak Truth}
These beautiful totes from DaySpring have me thinking about what I carry around with me day to day. Do I believe what God says about me and carry it around in defense of the lies that are thrown at me day in and day out? Or do I carry around burdens and weight that are really lies but I haven't taken time to let them meet the Truth?
We fill the bags in our lives with either truth or lies. Truth is light and lies are heavy.
If your bag had a label what would it say? Would it say insecure, unloved, broken beyond repair, failure, rejected, or hopeless?
It should say: loved beyond imagination, provided for, overcomer, righteous, pure, wanted, precious...
You are all that God says that you are and you can trade your bag that is heavy and labeled with lies for a lighter load that is beautiful and full of truth.
Wait at God's feet and don't be afraid to ask Him who you are. Ask Him what He loves about you. Ask Him if there are any lies you have believed about yourself that He wants to trade for the truth and then ask Him what the truth is.
---------------------------------------------------
I am thrilled with the totes that Dayspring has out now that reflect the truth of God's word and help you to shine your light as you are out and about. The bags are very well made and the details are so well thought out. I love the Hope for the Best tote that I recieved! It is pink inside {oh so feminine} and the dots on the side are such a great touch.
Dayspring gave me a tote to pass on to someone special and I decided to give it to one of my sisters who is one of my best friends {my other sisters are my other best friends}. She is graciously watching my children for me for a few days of much needed vacation. She is beautiful inside and out and wears the truth well.
15% off on all gift purchases. Coupon code: 15OFFGIFTS
P.S. I wrote this post before signing off for the Summer but wanted to share these thoughts and the cuteness of these totes with you {smile}.
Disclosure: DaySpring gave me a a free tote to review and one to giveaway to someone special. All opinions are my own.

A Purposeful Summer
Hello beautiful friends. I wanted update you on some of the new things coming for Purposeful Homemaker. I mentioned before that changes are coming.
I am very excited about the direction that God is taking me in. This blog, which started out as a way to share my heart with family and friends who cared to read, has grown and flourished. I have been so blessed that God would see fit to use my story to touch lives and heal hurting hearts. I have become so passionate about women discovering their true identity and celebrating the declaration over their lives that they are good.
I have felt, for some time now, that the name of this blog, Purposeful Homemaker, does not fit what I write about here anymore. Yes, I am still a purposeful homemaker but I write very little about homemaking and much, much more about heartmaking.
For this reason this blog will be going through some transformations and I will be starting a new blog that fits more with the theme of what I write about. I would love to have you join me at the new blog and will make sure to let you know when it is ready. If you haven't yet sign up for email notifications from me here.
Because of the new direction I am going in I have decided to obey the tug I feel in my heart to take the summer off from blogging. I will be laying blogging down on this and my other blog for moms to focus on getting the new blog ready as well as writing the eBooks I have on my heart. I will be finishing an eBook that is for moms who have lost a baby and adding to my eBook from the series on How to REALLY be a Good Mom.
I have lots to do to get these things ready and feel like between putting my family first and working on these things, there will be little time left for blogging. I will be guest posting a couple times and will pop in to let you know when and where. I will also still be on Facebook and Twitter and would love to keep in touch with you that way!
I have been a little torn about signing off for the Summer only because over the past couple weeks I have received some of the most touching and encouraging comments and emails from readers encouraging me to continue writing. I promise that I will {It's part of God's call on my life and I will continue to walk in it} and I am pretty sure you will enjoy what is to come.
I would really appreciate your prayers while I take time off to seek God and am obedient to the things He has laid on my heart. If you want some reading in the meantime I would love for you to read through the Good Mom series or some of my favorite posts under "My Heart In Words" on the right side of this blog. I pray you'll be encouraged by them.
Have a beautiful and blessed Summer and keep in touch! I LOVE to hear from you!

A Lie About Our Time that Makes Us Less Productive
There is this little lie that we believe about our time that actually makes us less productive. Don't we, as moms, need as much time as we can possibly get? We hold out our hands and time seems to slip through our fingers like sand. The minutes and hours and days fly by as if they are in a rush to get away.
We need every second to count. We pour our lives into serving our children and our husbands and we need every moment that we can grab on to .
The lie we believe is this: Spending time with God takes up our time and is just another thing we need to do.
We add God to our to do list and hope that we will get to it because we know we really should. Then we don't get to it and we beat ourselves up.
But we don't get to it because we believe that we don't have the time. We believe a lie.
You see, seeking God first is the key to having time...for anything. Seek first the kingdom of God and all of these things {your needs} will be added to you {Matthew 6:33}.
When you put God first, and spend time with Him, not only does He fill you up with what you need to make it through the day but He blesses your time.
When I give God the first part, the best part, of my time, He takes all the rest of my time and multiplies it. I find that I am so much more productive and able to focus on the best things when I trust God with my time.
We often don't spend time with God because we are afraid that everything won't get done. I'd like to challenge you to lay that fear before Him and trust Him with your time. I think you'll be amazed, as I have been, at how good He is when He gets first place in our hearts and we believe the truth over the lie.
Question for you: What does how you use your time say about what you believe?

For the Warrior Moms Deep In Battle
You are amazing! Really you are. Would you stop the noise of failure in your head for a moment to really hear this?
You work hard. You clean and you cook and you sort and you kiss boo boos and you pick socks up off the floor over and over. And every single bit of it is amazing. You feel like no one sees, no one cares but One does.
He sees you there as you really are. Beautiful. With hair a little wind blown and clothes a little loose but you are striking and He is so taken with you. You dare to do the unseen things over and over again. You serve the smallest ones and do the least of jobs. Wiping bottoms and noses and shaping hearts.
You stand there with your hands on your hips and get frustrated when you feel overwhelmed. He sees you there with all the armor He has provided you with. And you are strong, fierce even, and you are beautiful.
You have everything you need for this battle time and it is a battle. But you are a warrior for these babes and you fight through weariness with strength that is on loan. He never asks you to fight alone and He always sees.
Look up for a moment when your heart is heavy and see the smile on His handsome face. He is so proud of you and the little things that irritate you about yourself or the battle you are facing, well, He care about those things. He delights in you. Your weaknesses and all. And He created you for this...this battle of motherhood.
You can do this! Look behind you {and in front and beside} and see the One who's heart is about to explode with love for you. He's all you ever need to get through, to keep going one. more. day.
