What it is and What it's not: On How to REALLY Be A Good Mom

I'm sure you've heard by now that this Friday, March 2nd, we will begin a new series here at Purposeful Homemaker.  It's all about how to Really Be a Good Mom.  I thought I would explain a bit of what it will be and what it is not.

The Good Mom series is not a series on how to parent.  Although, I have no doubt that it will help us to be better mothers.  No, this series is all about filling you up with good stuff so that you spill out that good stuff all over your children, your husband and everyone else within your influence.

The same place that holds the "I'm a bad mom" mentality (you know the one where you beat yourself up every time you fail. Over and over...) is a place of deep cracks within your heart that is longing to be filled. Filled with truth.  Filled with life.  With hope.

Oh, and there is hope.  There is always hope.  Even on hide in the closet with tears running down your face and the biggest mess waiting outside the door days.

Our Heavenly Father has declared that we, His creation, are good.  He has called us to be moms and who He calls, He equips.  We ARE equipped.  We just don't always know it or walk in it.

That is what this series is about.  Learning the truth and living in it. Knowing what we need to be filled with and what to lay down.

And Grace.

This series is about deeply understanding grace.  Grace so that you live in it. Grace so that you learn to extend it. Grace because that is the lens that God sees us through.  His AMAZING grace.

If you are tired of being overwhelmed and tired of not knowing how to change things come join us.  This series will not change your circumstances but rather how you see them and what you do in them.

I am praying for you, for us, that we learn to walk in truth and grace.  I look forward to meeting you here and seeing what God will do in us.  See you Friday!
