About Me – The Purposeful Home Maker

About Purposeful Home Maker

Juanita Jordan From Purposeful Home MakerHi!  Welcome to this space where I share my heart with words.  I am so blessed that you are here and I want you to know that I pray for you.  Yes, you!  I lift you up in prayer often.  I pray that you would know how incredibly loved you are, how a Heavenly Father looks at you and declares that you are good.  You have gifts and talents that are amazing and I wish I could sit and chat with you for hours about your life and His fingerprints on it!

If you want to know the goal of this blog Acts 20:24 sums it up pretty well.  It says:

But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus — the work of telling others the Good News about God’s wonderful kindness and love.

Now I am guessing you want to know a little bit about me?  Yes? Here goes:

I’m just a girl who has a great big God who loves me more than I could ever imagine.  He delights in all the details of my life.  He parted the heavens to come down and rescue me from my pit of shame and hopelessness.  He set this “good girl” free and continues to work in and through me.  I am so in love with Him but it is really only because I learned how much He loved me first.  I love to share how I know all of this and that is why I blog.

Part of who God has called me to be is a wife to an amazing, intelligent, wise, loving husband.  He is such a big part of why I am the woman I am today.  He has forgiven much and encouraged me in so many ways. I often tell him he should blog because husbands need examples like him.  So far he hasn’t gone for it.

I am also a “mamma” to 7 precious children.  We have 5 daughters and 1 son that we are raising and another son who is in heaven.  He was born prematurely due to pregnancy complications and lived 6 precious hours before going home into our loving Saviors arms.  It was a very difficult loss but God was so very near and faithful.  I’ve written more about it here on my blog.

I’m usually happiest when: I am talking deeply one-on-one or in a small group, taking pictures of my sweet (and in my opinion, adorable) kiddos, taking pictures of other peoples little ones (newborns are my favorite!), writing what is on my heart, reading a good book (on a rainy day with some chocolate is best!), baking something yummy (has to be gluten-free for me), cooking with whole, organic foods, or shopping for a good deal on great things for kids or moms (I blog about this at Mommy Kudos).

I am on a mission to be purposeful in all I do.  To me, purposefully doesn’t just mean having a plan but it means sitting at the feet of the One who knows the beginning and the end.  My Heavenly Father knows what I need and how I should live this life of mine better than I could ever figure out on my own.  As I allow Him to work with me, teach me, heal me and change me; I am becoming all I am created to be and it is so much more than my own capabilities.  As a woman, a wife, a mother and a friend, changing and bettering myself will only result in me being those things to the fullness of my own capabilities.  Allowing Him to work in me, though, means that my own capacity doesn’t limit me.  Nothing is too hard for Him.

I am thrilled you are here! I am so passionate about seeing women set free to become ALL that God intended us to be.  Won’t you join me on the journey?

P.S. I absolutely LOVE your comments!  My goal is to respond to each one but I sometimes fall short of that goal because I am tending to the needs of my {big} family.  So know that I read each one; and from the bottom of my heart,  thank you! You truly bless me!
